BENJAMIN (Hosted talk on Sex scandals)

Benjamin works for the Department of Natural Resources as manager in financial policy and has been with the Federal Government for about eight years. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of Ottawa in 1998. Some of his interests include home improvement, car repair, woodworking and talking a lot:) He currently resides in Kemptville Ontario with his fiancée, Nina.

BRENDAN (Hosted talk on Grameen Bank& Micro-financing for women)

Brendan was born in 1980, and grew up on a farm in Zimbabwe. Home-schooled, he was well-read in classical and medieval theology and philosophy by the age of 12. Having moved to Canada to study civil engineering at the University of Waterloo, he then spent two years working as a hunting and fishing guide in the Northwest Territories, simultaneously writing a draft of a novelistic treatment of the life of the 1930s Austrian soccer-player/folk-hero, Matthias Sindelar. During his second summer of non-stop sunlight, he experienced a nervous breakdown, and subsequently hitchiked to Ottawa where, after several months of sleeping on friends’ couches and working as a bicycle courier and short-order cook, he eventually found a job with the federal government.

He spends his free time seeking out jazz performances and poetry readings in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto, cooking elaborate meals for himself in his small Sandy Hill apartment, and watching European soccer matches on television.
